Res. 42 (24) (2004) 5167–5184] suggested that it might be possible to improve production systems performance by applying the first and second laws of thermodynamics to reduce system entropy (or disorder). They then used these laws to modify the economic order quantity (EOQ) model to derive an equivalent entropic order quantity (EnOQ). We have previously reported that robust mesostructured films will grow at the surface of alkaline solutions containing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), polyethylenimine (PEI), and silica precursors. Here we have used time-resolved small-angle X-ray scattering to investigate the structural evolution of the micellar solution from which the films form, at several different CTAB-PEI concentrations. Simple models have been employed to quantify the size and shape of the micelles in the solution. There are no mesostructured particles occurring in the CTAB-PEI solution prior to silica addition; however, after the addition of silicate species the hydrolysis and condensation of these species causes the formation of mesophase particles in a very short time, much faster than ordering observed in the film at the interface. The mesophase within the CTAB-PEI-silica particles finally rearranges into a 2D hexagonal ordered structure. With the aid of the previous neutron reflectivity data on films formed at the air/water interface from similar solutions, a formation mechanism for CTAB-PEI-silica films at the air/water interface has been developed. We suggest that although the route of mesostructure evolution of the film is the same as that of the particles in the solution, the liquid crystalline phase at the interface is not directly formed by the particles that developed below the interface. 相似文献

In this Letter, we present three-dimensional (3D) photon counting integral imaging using the moving array-lens technique (MALT) to improve the visualization of a reconstructed 3D scene. In 3D scene reconstruction of photon counting integral imaging, various techniques such as maximum likelihood estimation may be used. However, the visual quality depends on the number of scene photons or detector pixels activated by photons. A series of pyrazolo[1,2-a][1,2,4]triazole-1,3-dione derivatives were synthesized under the catalytic effect of Natrolite zeolite, and their cytotoxic effects on three human breast cancer cell lines viz. breast cancer (BT-474), triple negative breast cancer (MDA-MB 231), and breast carcinoma (MCF-7) were explored using MTT assay. Apoptotic effects of the compounds were investigated by western blot analysis on the caspase-3 protein. Moreover, we examined the level of reactive oxygen species in all three cell lines. The most promising compound, 7-Amino-1,3-dioxo-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-phenyl-1,2,3-trihydropyrazolo[1,2-a][1,2,4]triazole-6-carbonitrile (4c), showed high levels of cytotoxicity against all cell lines with IC50 values of 2.3, 2.5 and 3 μg/ml, respectively. 相似文献

Direct measurements were made by use of a sulfide ion-selective electrode in conjunction with a double-junction reference electrode and an Orion Model 407 A/F specific ion meter. This method enables simple and rapid determinations of the total sulfide ion concentration in water. Total sulfide was determined in samples collected from lakes in Fort Bend County. Texas, which ranged from 4 ppb to 18 ppb and from the Houston Ship Channel which ranged from 13 ppb to 42 ppb.A series of experiments shows that (1) the rate of oxidation of S2? exposed to air is about three times slower for solutions containing the sulfide antioxidant buffer (SAOB II) and (2) the rate of oxidation of S2 in tightly capped containers is about twice as fast for solutions not containing SAOB II than for solutions containing SAOB II.It was concluded that the use of SAOB II almost eliminates the problem of air oxidation of sulfide ions during direct measurements and that sulfide ion concentrations (as low as 4 ppb) can be determined directly in the laboratory and in the field by use ofthis electrode method. 相似文献

Three new diterpenes, namely jasonin-a (1), jasonin-b (2), and jasonin-c (3) were isolated from the aerial parts of Jasonia montana (Asteraceae). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data as [(1E)-2-((2S)-1,2,5-trimethylbicyclo[3.2.l]octan-8-yl)vinyl] benzene-3-carboxylic acid (1), [3-((2S, 5S)-1,2, 5-trimethylcycloheptanyl)propyl]benzene-3-carboxylic acid (2), and [(1E)-3-((7R)-1,7-dimethy-4-methylenecycloheptanyl)prop-1-enyl] benzene-3-carboxylic acid (3). In addition, the previously reported 5,7,3'-trihydroxy-3,6,4'-trimethoxy flavone designated as centaureidin (4), was also isolated and characterized from this source. The different extracts of the plant were also screened for hypoglycemic, antidiabetic, and antimicrobial activities, wherein the petroleum ether and ethanolic extracts exhibited hypoglycemic and antidiabetic activity, and the petroleum ether and chloroform extracts showed antimicrobial activity. 相似文献
